Belford Ferry Terminal

Ferry docking at the Belford Ferry Terminal

The Belford Ferry Terminal, 10 Harbor Way in the Belford section of Middletown, NJ, is an on-going county project that provides weekday transportation to New York City for 1,100 commuters.

The ferry leaves the Belford terminal and travels to Pier 11 and the World Financial Center in lower Manhattan. New York Waterways Inc. is the administrator and provider of the actual ferry service. For the most current ferry schedule, updated route information and trips and tours, click here.

Ferry service to New York City began in October 2002. Since then, this facility has exceeded county projections, resulting in the construction of additional parking spaces in 2005. When complete, the project is expected to utilize about 38 acres. The ferry terminal and parking areas currently occupy about 14 acres of the 234 acres of land owned by Monmouth County. Much of the acreage consists of facilities and acres used to support the county operation at the ferry terminal and open space that supports the environmental assets of the Bayshore region.

This project is another way that the county works to provide services to residents and visitors, protect and manage open space while reducing congestion and commutation on local and regional roadways.
