Erik Anderson is currently serving his first, three-year term, which
expires on 12/31/26, on the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners.
Commissioner Anderson is the liaison to the Board of Elections, County Counsel,
Consumer Affairs, Division of Planning, Historical Commission, Library, Rutgers
Extension Services, Superintendent of Elections, and the Superintendent of
Schools.
Prior to joining the Commissioner Board, Commissioner Anderson served on
the Shrewsbury Borough Council from 2016 through 2019 and served as Mayor from
2019 through 2024.
Born and raised in Monmouth County, Commissioner Anderson is an owner
and partner of the law firm Reardon Anderson.
In addition to providing legal advice to businesses and individuals, Commissioner Anderson is a certified civil trial attorney who represents
clients in state and federal courts. He
has been practicing law in Monmouth County for over 20 years.
Commissioner Anderson is also involved in local community affairs. Prior to joining Shrewsbury’s Council, he
served on the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Additionally, he coached recreation soccer and currently is a youth ski
race coach.
Commissioner Anderson received his juris doctor from Rutgers University
School of Law – Newark. He obtained a
master’s degree in Environmental Law, cum laude, from Vermont Law School. He graduated from The Catholic University of
America with a B.A. in politics and an honors degree in Environmental
Studies. Commissioner Anderson also
attended Shrewsbury Borough School and Red Bank Regional High School.
Erik and his wife live in Shrewsbury with their three boys.
