NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed October 2026
as Domestic Violence Awareness Month during a Workshop Meeting on Oct. 22.
“Raising
awareness about domestic violence and ensuring survivors have access to the
support and resources they need is essential to building a safer, stronger
community,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “My fellow
Commissioners and I thank our partners for their continued commitment to
supporting survivors and helping those impacted by domestic violence.”
On
behalf of the Board, Commissioner Susan M. Kiley presented the proclamation to
180 Turning Lives Around Chief Executive Officer Liz Graham; Grants Manager Alison
Loder; Board of Trustees Jeff Booker; and Melissa Lowry, Robert Mercado and
Tasha Youngblood Brown. The organization serves as Monmouth County’s

“Domestic
Violence Awareness Month serves as an important reminder of the need to raise
awareness, support survivors and promote healthy relationships,” said
Commissioner Kiley, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services.
“180 Turning Lives Around provides vital support to survivors and their
families, and Monmouth County is grateful for its continued dedication to those
in need. We remain committed to strengthening our efforts to prevent domestic
violence, protect those affected by it and build a community where everyone can
live free from violence.”
