Commissioners commend County’s Vocational
School District students for outstanding SAT scores

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD) are celebrating the remarkable SAT scores attained by MCVSD students during the 2024-25 academic year.

County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, Deputy Director Dominick “Nick” DiRocco and Commissioners Susan M. Kiley, Ross F. Licitra and Erik Anderson congratulate the MCVSD students, staff and administration.

“My fellow Commissioners and I are incredibly proud to report that students at five schools in the MCVSD achieved outstanding scores when they took the SAT during the 2024-25 school year,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “Our vocational high schools rank among the most outstanding high schools in New Jersey and these test scores reflect the dedication of the students, their teachers and administrators.”

According to the New Jersey Department of Education, the highest score that can be attained on the SAT is 1,600. New Jersey’s statewide average score was 1,052. In the MCVSD, the average SAT score at High Technology High School was 1,509; the average score at Biotechnology High School was 1,461; the average score at the Academy of Allied Health and Science was 1,367; the average score at Communications High School was 1,321; and the average score at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology was 1,298.

“The students who attend the exceptional schools in the MCVSD are well-prepared for success in an evolving workforce and for lifelong learning,” said Commissioner Deputy Director DiRocco, liaison to the MCVSD. “As these SAT scores clearly demonstrate, the MCVSD maintains a strong commitment to academic excellence. The students’ scores near the top of the SAT are a testament to their efforts and to the educators, administrators and families who make these schools so successful.”

“I’m immensely proud of our students for earning this recognition, and grateful to our teachers who support them. I also want to acknowledge the many excellent schools across the County that prepared them so well for high school,” MCVSD Superintendent Sean Meehan said.
