Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners hosts Shared Services Summit for local officials
Commissioners announce two new shared service agreements

COLTS NECK, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners hosted a Shared Services Summit for municipal elected and appointed officials at the Clubhouse at Hominy Hill on September 22.

The Monmouth County Office of Shared Services facilitates partnerships with local government entities where the County provides services, equipment and resources to them, which helps reduce costs and increase efficiency.

“The Monmouth County Office of Shared Services currently facilitates more than 500 shared service agreements with municipalities, counties, and other government entities,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Monmouth County Office of Shared Services. “These partnerships allow us to work together to deliver services more efficiently and cost-effectively. In Monmouth County, we remain committed to finding innovative ways to reduce the tax burden on our residents while maintaining the high quality of life that makes our County such a great place to live.”

The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners proudly announced two new shared service agreements: a transportation agreement and a health services agreement.

“Transportation is another area where shared services can make a meaningful difference for residents. The County has agreements with municipalities to provide weekly transportation to food markets for residents 60 and older and for residents with disabilities under age 60,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “Our newly organized Division of Integrated Health is also exploring opportunities to expand shared health services with municipalities, including STD, TB, and childhood immunization clinics.”

During the Summit, presentations were given by the Monmouth County Commissioner Director Arnone, Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon and representatives from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs – Division of Local Government Services.

“While we are proud of our accomplishments, we are always looking for new opportunities and ways to expand Shared Services in Monmouth County.,” added Commissioner Director Arnone.
