County Commissioners recognize Giuliana Demma as a finalist
for the Congressional Medal of Honor Youth Service Award
FREEHOLD, NJ – The
Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners presented a certificate of
recognition to Giuliana Demma for being a finalist for the Congressional Medal
of Honor Youth Service award during the May 28 Workshop Meeting.
The
certificate of recognition was presented to Demma by Commissioner Director
Thomas A. Arnone, on behalf of the Board.
“My
fellow Commissioners and I extend our congratulations to Giuliana on this
remarkable accomplishment,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “The
Congressional Medal of Honor Youth Service Award recognizes young Americans who
demonstrate compassion, leadership and an unwavering commitment to helping
their communities, and Giuliana is truly deserving of this honor.”
Demma
also founded her own business, G’s Giving Gowns, which replaces standard
hospital gowns with custom port access shorts designed to bring comfort to
patients. Through her initiative, more than 3,000 gowns and 520 port-access
shirts have been donated.
“We thank
Giuliana for her continued dedication to volunteerism and service, and we
applaud the lasting difference she is making in the lives of others throughout
the nation,” added Commissioner Director Arnone.
