Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary at Monmouth County’s
Stars & Strides Flag Day 5K & 1-Mile Freedom Walk

NJ - The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and the MonmouthNJ 250
Committee invite everyone to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary at Monmouth
County’s Stars & Strides Flag Day 5K & 1-Mile Freedom Walk on Sunday,
June 14, at Bell Works, located at 101 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel.
“As
an avid runner, I can’t think of a more exciting way to help celebrate
America’s 250th birthday than with a patriotic, high-energy event like the
Stars & Strides Flag Day 5K & 1-Mile Freedom Walk,” said Commissioner
Director Thomas A. Arnone, Co-Chair of the MonmouthNJ 250 Committee. “We invite
everyone to sign up for this once-in-a-lifetime race and wear plenty of red,
white, and blue as we honor our incredible country during this historic
milestone.”
“The
MonmouthNJ 250 Committee has been working tirelessly to prepare for this
monumental anniversary, organizing special events such as the Stars &
Strides Flag Day 5K & 1-Mile Freedom Walk,” said Monmouth County Clerk
Christine Giordano Hanlon, Co-Chair of the MonmouthNJ 250 Committee. “We
encourage everyone to participate in this signature event and explore the many
other programs planned throughout this month and through 2026. For updates and

Participants
are encouraged to sign up now for this exciting patriotic event featuring live
entertainment, family-friendly activities, and plenty of red, white, and blue
spirit. Whether you are a competitive runner, casual jogger, walker, or simply
looking for a fun way to celebrate Flag Day, the event promises something for
everyone.
Registration
is $35 for both the 5K and the 1-mile walk. Awards will be presented to the top
three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three runners
across 14 age groups. The 1-Mile Freedom Walk is a non-timed event designed for
participants of all ages and abilities.
In
addition to the race festivities, attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive
attractions and activities, including a rock-climbing wall, pickleball court,
soccer activities, music, and appearances by Uncle Sam on stilts.
Proceeds
from the event benefit the Friends of the Monmouth County Park System, a
charitable organization dedicated to supporting Monmouth County Park System
enhancements, preserving historical and natural resources, expanding
recreational opportunities for urban youth, and providing inclusive programming
for individuals with disabilities.
