County Commissioners celebrate
record-breaking growth and kick off 2026 summer tourism season
LONG BRANCH,
NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and tourism partners
officially launched the 2026 summer tourism season at Ocean Place Resort &
Spa on May 19, celebrating another year of record-breaking growth and
spotlighting a summer packed with major events and attractions.
“Summer 2025
marked a historic milestone for Monmouth County tourism, with the County’s
shore towns collectively surpassing $32 million in beach revenue for the first
time ever, further solidifying Monmouth County’s reputation as a premier
tourism destination,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “According to the
State report, visitor spending climbed from $3 billion in 2024 to just under
$3.2 billion in 2025, which is nearly a 4 percent increase. The tourism
industry also supported more than 24,000 jobs countywide in 2025 and generated
more than $360 million in fiscal tax impacts, underscoring tourism’s powerful
economic impact across the County.”
Looking ahead,
Commissioner Director Arnone highlighted the County’s plans to celebrate
America’s 250th anniversary. Together with his fellow Commissioners, County
Clerk Christine Hanlon and Sheriff Shaun Golden, Monmouth County is organizing
a series of special experiences and events for residents and visitors,
including a signature 5K Run, Gala and County parade.
“With the FIFA
World Cup bringing international attention to the region, Monmouth County is
also preparing to welcome visitors for day trips, weekend getaways and extended
stays,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “Through targeted digital marketing
initiatives, Monmouth County Tourism will showcase the County’s beaches,
downtowns, parks, attractions and rich history to travelers visiting the United
States during the tournament.”
Long Branch Mayor John Pallone
highlighted the city’s historic ties to America’s presidents and the excitement
surrounding this year’s patriotic celebrations.
“This summer
is especially exciting for everyone as we celebrate America’s 250th
birthday,” said Mayor Pallone. “Long Branch has long been known for its
connection to our Country’s presidents and we are proud to have Monmouth
County’s Seven Presidents Park here as a nod to the presidents who visited our
city.”
Ocean Place
Resort & Spa General Manager Paul Schwartz welcomed attendees and spoke
about the resort’s continued commitment to supporting tourism and creating
memorable visitor experiences.
“As Long
Branch continues to grow as one of New Jersey’s premier beachfront
destinations, Ocean Place remains committed to helping drive tourism and year-round
visitations for the region,” said Schwartz. “Our focus this season is to create
memorable experiences for every guest.”
Greater Long
Branch Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lewis Payne emphasized the
vibrant energy throughout the city during the summer months and previewed
several major events planned for the season.
“When summer
arrives in Long Branch, the city truly comes alive,” said Payne. “From the
beach and boardwalk to our restaurants, shops, hotels and community events,
there’s an energy throughout the city you can feel every single day. … the
Chamber, the City and the UEZ are working together to host World Cup watch
parties across the city, creating opportunities not only for local businesses,
but for the community to come together and celebrate the greatest sport on
earth. On July 4, New Jersey’s biggest Independence Day celebration will
feature the most spectacular fireworks on the Jersey Shore and OceanFest will
welcome tens of thousands of visitors. We are looking forward to a fantastic
summer here in Long Branch.”
Monmouth Arts
Executive Director Teresa Staub spoke about the importance of the arts
community and the partnerships that help bring cultural programming to life
throughout Monmouth County each summer.
“Today, Long
Branch is alive with energy,” said Staub. “We are proud to partner with
organizations that keep creativity active and thriving across the communities.
Summer in Monmouth County is truly when the arts come alive. Let’s show up for
the arts this summer.”
