Commissioners congratulate Carrianne
Kaplan & Catherine DiMaulo for being named
NJDOE Exemplary Educator
FREEHOLD, NJ - The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners honored Tinton Falls Middle School teacher Carrianne Kaplan
during its April 23 workshop meeting for being named an Exemplary Educator by
the New Jersey Department of Education.
Commissioner Erik Anderson, liaison to the Monmouth
County Superintendent of Schools, presented Kaplan with a certificate
recognizing her achievement.
“Throughout her career, Carrianne has demonstrated
exceptional skill and leadership and has made an incredible impact on her
students,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “We thank her for
providing a memorable and meaningful educational experience for more than 25
years to students in New Jersey.”
“Carrianne began her career as a math teacher at JFK
High School in Iselin, before moving to Point Pleasant Borough,” said
Commissioner Anderson. “Eleven years ago she moved to Tinton Falls Middle
School, serving as Vice Principal and then subsequently as Principal. Missing
the daily connection with students, Carrianne returned to classroom teaching.
Her dedication to fostering a nurturing and engaging educational environment
for her students makes her a true role model for educators across the State.”
In addition, Catherine DiMaulo, a science teacher at
Marlboro High School, was also named an Exemplary Educator by the New Jersey
Department of Education but was not in attendance.
“Catherine began teaching at Marlboro High School in
2016 and has been an active member of the school community, advising student
clubs and serving as head coach of the Marlboro Girls Lacrosse program,” said
Commissioner Anderson. “She also contributes to both the Intervention and
Referral Services Team and the School Professional Development Team, supporting
students and colleagues alike. We congratulate Catherine on this well-deserved
recognition.”
The New Jersey Department of Education annually
invites public school districts to participate in the Exemplary Educator
Recognition Program, which honors educators who demonstrate strong knowledge
and skills, a positive presence, and an inspiring influence on students,
colleagues and the broader school community. Teachers, parents and community
members nominate candidates, with selected educators receiving statewide
recognition.
