County Commissioners celebrated April 12-18
as
National Public Safety Telecommunications
Week
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners celebrated April 12-18 as National Public Safety
Telecommunications Week and marked the occasion during a workshop meeting on
April 23.
“My fellow Commissioner and I want
to thank our public safety telecommunications personnel for the important work
they do every day,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “When someone
calls 9-1-1, they are connected to a dedicated telecommunicator who will calmly
gather pertinent information and dispatch emergency responders. The
telecommunicators’ behind-the-scenes work is essential to public safety and we are
grateful for their service.”
“The staff at the Monmouth County 9-1-1 Communications
Center are the unsung heroes of public safety and play a critical role in saving
lives,” said Commissioner Susan M. Kiley, liaison to the Monmouth County
Sheriff’s Office. “As
the first and most critical point of contact for our citizens in times of
crisis, they serve as the link for emergency personnel, providing vital
information that ensures the safety of responders and the public. We honor the
telecommunicators’ tireless service, which continues 24 hours a day, seven days
a week. Monmouth County is safer because of their professionalism and
commitment.”
