County Commissioners
celebrate County Government Month
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners proclaimed April 2026 as County Government Month during a
workshop meeting on April 23 to recognize the valuable services provided by the
Nation’s counties.
A proclamation was presented by Commissioner Deputy Director
Dominick “Nick” DiRocco to John G. Donnadio, Esq., Executive Director of the New
Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC).
“County government in New Jersey date back to 1798
and serve as a middle level of government between the state and federal
governments and local municipalities,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A.
Arnone. “Here in Monmouth County, the Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners is responsible for roads, libraries, parks, public health and
human services, transportation, water supply, solid waste management,
historical preservation, law enforcement, land records, elections and the
courts. We would like to take this opportunity to also thank our incredible
workforce serving our residents everyday.”
“NJAC is a tremendous partner for Monmouth County,
led by John Donnadio, and advocates for all 21 counties in New Jersey in
Trenton,” said Commissioner Deputy Director Dominick “Nick” DiRocco. “We would
like to thank the organization for their work and look forward to our continued
collaboration to make Monmouth County the best place to live, work and raise a
family.”
