superhero!
All
County seventh grade students invited to participate
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County
Board of County Commissioners is inviting seventh-grade students across
Monmouth County to help name its newest recycling superhero.
“In late March, my fellow
Commissioners and I unveiled a one-of-a-kind recycling education trailer,
outfitted with fully interactive video games featuring our recycling hero,”
said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “Now, he needs a name. In honor of
Earth Day, we are inviting all seventh graders in Monmouth County to submit a
name for our superhero, along with a letter explaining their choice and why
recycling is important to keeping their community clean. The winning name will
be featured throughout the recycling trailer as it travels to events across the
County.”
Contest Rules:
- Open
to all seventh-grade students in Monmouth County
- Submissions
will be accepted through Friday, May 22
- Each
entry must include a letter explaining the chosen name and the importance
of recycling and keeping communities clean
- Submissions
may be sent by:
The contest winner will be
recognized at a Board of County Commissioners’ meeting at the Hall of Records
in Freehold.
The County also encourages schools
and community organizations to learn more about the recycling education trailer
and request a visit.
“The mobile unit features six
interactive gaming stations, allowing multiple people to participate at the
same time,” continued Commissioner Director Arnone. “Each station includes
custom-designed games, which star our hero, and teaches what can and cannot be
recycled, explains why recycling matters, and shows how small everyday actions
can make a big difference in protecting our planet. We encourage schools and
community groups to bring this experience to their next event.”
