Commissioner Director launches latest
edition of
Director’s Wellness Challenge with added goal
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners is excited to announce the latest edition of the Director’s
Wellness Challenge, launching April 1 and running through May 31, 2026, with
the goal of 10,000 steps for at least 20 days during the month and completing
two wellness activities per month through the Division of Benefits and
Workforce Wellness.
Free wellness programs for all Monmouth County
employees offer everything from health screenings to grief support resources to
virtual Tai Chi classes.
“With spring weather around the corner, there’s no
better time to lace up your sneakers and enjoy a happy, healthy spring,” said
Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “In addition to the required number of
steps, the new Challenge encourages participants to complete two wellness
activities through the Division of Benefits and Workforce Wellness,
highlighting the importance of physical, mental, and emotional health.”
Employees are also invited to participate in events
offered through MonmouthNJ 250, which are also open to the public.
“The MonmouthNJ 250 Stars and Strides 5K on June 14
and the 250 for 250 Virtual Challenge are wonderful opportunities for residents
to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in a healthy and meaningful way,” said
Commissioner Director Arnone. “These events bring our community together,
encourage active lifestyles, and allow participants to be part of a
once-in-a-generation celebration of our nation’s history.”
