County Commissioners announce 16
paper shredding events for 2026
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners has announced that 16 paper shredding events will be held throughout
the year to provide residents of all 53 of the County’s municipalities with a
safe and secure way to dispose of old documents and sensitive files.
“Each paper
shredding event is free and offers residents the opportunity to clear out
clutter and protect sensitive information such as bank statements, medical
records, legal documents and utility bills from identity theft,” said
Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Monmouth County Reclamation
Center. “I want to thank our municipal partners being a part of this great
service.”
All of the 2026 paper
shredding events will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations:
Saturday, March 21: Upper
Freehold Township – 314 Route 539, Cream Ridge
Saturday, April 11: Brielle
– Brielle Park, 658 Union Lane
Saturday, April 25: Keyport
– American Legion Drive at Keyport Waterfront Park
Saturday, May 9: Eatontown
– 47 Broad St., Borough Hall Parking Lot
Saturday, May 30: Matawan
– Matawan-Aberdeen Train Station, 27 Atlantic Ave., Lot No. 1
Saturday, June 13: Shrewsbury
Borough – 419 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury Municipal Center
Saturday, June 27: Union
Beach – 1400 Florence Ave., Union Beach DPW/Recycling Yard
Saturday, July 18: Howell
– Memorial/Adelphia School, 485 Adelphia Road, Freehold
Saturday, Aug. 8:
Neptune Township – 2201 Heck Ave., Recycling Yard
Saturday, Aug. 22: Englishtown

Allenhurst - Beach Club, end of Corlies Avenue near Ocean Avenue
Saturday, Nov 21:
Middletown – 63 Tindall Road, Middletown High School North
County residents may
shred up to 100 pounds, which is equivalent to four office paper boxes, or four
large-size trash bags. Each location is open to all Monmouth County residents.
All papers will be
shredded on location in mobile trucks and the event will end once the mobile
trucks are full or at the event’s scheduled end time. Large binder clips must
be removed from documents; staples and paper clips can remain.
This program is
hosted by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and the
participating municipalities: Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Avon, Brielle, Colts
Neck, Eatontown, Englishtown, Howell, Keyport, Matawan, Middletown, Neptune
City, Neptune Township, Shrewsbury Borough, Union Beach and Upper Freehold
Township.
