Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners
honors Alicia Tobias as NJDOE Exemplary Educator
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners recognized educator Alicia Tobias during its Dec. 11 Workshop
Meeting for being named a 2025 Exemplary Educator by the New Jersey Department
of Education.
A certificate was presented to Tobias by
Commissioner Erik Anderson, liaison to the Monmouth County Superintendent of
Schools, on behalf of the Board.
“Congratulations to Alicia for being named an
Exemplary Educator by the New Jersey Department of Education,” said
Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “Growing up with a younger brother who
had a learning disability, Alicia saw firsthand the impact that compassionate,
individualized support can have on a child’s life. Educators like Alicia truly
change students’ lives, and we are so thankful for the work she does every day.”
“Alicia joined the Shore Center, a public
out-of-district placement for students on the autism spectrum, in 2013,” said
Commissioner Anderson. “She has served in several roles and now as the
Supervisor of Transition Services oversees Bridges, a Transition Hub that
provides young adults with the independent living and community experiences
needed to build skills for their post-21 world. We commend Alicia for this
well-deserved recognition and wish her continued success in her future
endeavors.”
