Commissioners recognize Colts Neck
schools
for Purple Star Schools designation
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners presented a certificate of recognition to representatives of the
Colts Neck Township Schools, commending the school district for being
designated as a Purple Star School during a Workshop Meeting on Nov. 13.
“Congratulations to Colts Neck Township Schools on
receiving this impressive designation from the New Jersey Department of
Education,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “The Purple Star
Schools program honors districts that go above and beyond to support
military-connected students and help them adjust when their families relocate
due to active-duty service.”
Colts Neck Township Schools was
represented by Superintendent of Schools MaryJane Garibay; Conover Road Primary School Principal
Tricia Barr; Conover Road Elementary School Principal James Osmond; Cedar Drive
Middle School Principal Dr. Colin Rigby; Dr. Erica Reynolds; and Dr. Richard
Beck.
“The goal of these programs is to ensure school staff can
effectively support students as they transfer between schools with different
expectations and requirements,” said Commissioner Erik Anderson, liaison to the
Monmouth County Superintendent of Schools. “Colts Neck’s administrators,
teachers, and students have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the children
of the men and women who serve our country.”
Elementary school pupils whose parents serve at Naval
Weapons Station Earle attend the Colts Neck Township Schools.
