Monmouth County Commissioners break ground
for The Crossroads of Monmouth County

COLTS NECK – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for an intersection improvement project known as The Crossroads of Monmouth County at the intersection of Route 34 and Route 537 on Nov. 6.

“This project will feature a variety of shrubs and plants, highlighted by a large spruce at the center, to beautify and enhance the intersection,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “The Crossroads of Monmouth is a strong example of our ongoing commitment to preserving open space and promoting natural beauty throughout the County. Last year, we preserved more than 1,200 acres across Monmouth County, and we are pleased that the Open Space Grant referendum passed earlier this week. This support allows us to continue investing in projects that make Monmouth County one of the most beautiful and vibrant places to live.”

The project is being done in-house, with the landscaping and sign designed by Department of Public Works Senior Landscape Architect Ellias Sarrinikolaou, L.L.A., the renderings were completed in coordination with the Division of Engineering, and the sign was constructed by the Monmouth County Park System.
