County Commissioners host food drive in
light of temporary suspension of full SNAP benefits
FREEHOLD,
NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners will host a Countywide
Food Drive with County employees to support local food banks and residents in light
of the recent temporary suspension of full SNAP benefits.
“Many families in our community are facing increased
challenges putting food on the table due to the recent suspension of full SNAP
benefits,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “The Monmouth County
Board of County Commissioners is proud to launch this Countywide Food Drive to
support our local food banks and the residents who rely on them. By coming
together, we can make a real difference for those in need.”
“As the holiday season approaches, we invite all County
employees and residents to join us in this important effort to support our
neighbors and fellow residents,” said Commissioner Susan M. Kiley, liaison to
the Department of Health and Human Services. “Every donation, large or small,
helps accomplish the goal that no one in Monmouth County goes hungry during the
suspension of full benefits.”
Members of the public who would like to participate
can drop off non-perishable donations at the Monmouth County Library
Headquarters Branch, 125 Symmes Drive in Manalapan, or at the Eastern Branch,
1001 Route 35 in Shrewsbury.
