County
Commissioners partner with Ocean Twp. to provide dredging services at Firemen’s
Pond
This service provides
significant cost savings to Ocean Twp.
OCEAN TWP, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners announced that they are partnering with Ocean Twp. officials to
dredge Firemen’s Pond, which will save the municipality hundreds of thousands
of dollars.
“This is a perfect example of good government, where the
municipality and the County join forces to make a project more affordable for
residents,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “A project like this
would typically cost between $600,000 and $800,000, but thanks to the County’s
resources, Ocean Twp. will save about $140,000. That’s a significant savings
for the Township and its residents.”
“Projects like this are massive undertakings that require
significant funding, and we can’t do it alone,” said Ocean Twp. Mayor John P.
Napolitani, Sr. “We’re grateful to the Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners and the State for their support. It’s through our partnerships
with contractors, the County, and the State that we’re able to get projects
like this done, and we look forward to restoring the lake to its former glory.”
