Commissioners congratulate Blake
Robinovitz
upon earning Congressional civilian award
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners recognized Colts Neck High School student Blake Robinovitz for
being named a recipient of a Congressional Award Gold Medal during the
Commissioner Workshop Meeting on Aug. 28.
“On behalf of the Monmouth County Board of
County Commissioners, we congratulate Blake for being named a recipient of a
Congressional Award Gold Medal,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A.
Arnone. “The Congressional Award challenges young people in four key
areas: public service, personal development, fitness and exploration. Blake has
successfully completed more than 650 hours of volunteer service, 200 hours
dedicated to personal development and 200 hours focused on physical fitness.”
According to the Congressional Award website,
Congress established the award in 1979 to recognize initiative, service and
achievement in young people. It began as a bipartisan effort in the U.S. Senate
and the House of Representatives. The award is Congress’ highest honor for
civilian youth.
“Blake is a highly motivated student who has taken
on numerous leadership roles, including serving as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in
NJROTC, Captain in the Marlboro Police Cadets, President of the Colts Neck High
School Superintendent Executive Advisory Board and Vice President of the
National Honor Society,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “My fellow
Commissioners and I wish Blake success in his future endeavors and are excited
to see what he accomplishes next.”
