County Commissioners congratulate Tourism Director for receiving 2025 MODC Silver Gull Award

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners congratulates Monmouth County Tourism Director Carolyn Burtnick for receiving the Silver Gull Award for Tourism Achievement from the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council (MODC) at the Silver Gull Awards Dinner on May 1.

“My fellow Commissioners and I congratulate Carolyn on the occasion of receiving the Silver Gull Award for Tourism Achievement from the MODC,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “Carolyn's passion for showcasing the unique charm of Monmouth County, along with her unwavering dedication to excellence, has made a lasting impact on our community.”

Among Burtnick’s notable accomplishments are the modernization of the Monmouth County Tourism website which has been recognized by the National Association of County Information Officers for its innovative design and improved accessibility. During her tenure, the County also recorded a seven percent increase in bed tax revenue from 2023-2024, marking the second-highest growth in the State.

“As the County’s Tourism Director, Carolyn has demonstrated exemplary leadership, creativity, and commitment, elevating Monmouth County’s tourism initiatives to new heights,” added Commissioner Director Arnone. “We thank her for her outstanding contributions and look forward to her continued success in making Monmouth County a premier tourism destination.”
