County Commissioners spotlight Borough of Keansburg Shared Services success stories
Borough has been receiving services since 1998

FREEHOLD, NJ – As part of their series on successful shared services partnerships, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners would like to showcase the Shared Services agreements between Monmouth County and Borough of Keansburg.

In 1998, the Borough of Keansburg joined the MOD IV Property Assessment Computer Services Agreement. This service allows municipalities to operate a state-mandated tax assessment software at a reduced price compared to outsourcing the service to a private sector.

Participating municipalities reduce their costs to taxpayers by not having to acquire, maintain, and perform the administration related to the software.

The Borough of Keansburg also utilizes the iTax Map Agreement, another shared service administered by the Monmouth County Board of Taxation. This service provides tax map conversion and maintenance services in compliance with the law by utilizing the most up to date GIS parcel layer and tax map data.

“My fellow Commissioners and I are proud to see the Borough of Keansburg not only participating in our Shared Services program but also continuing to renew their agreements due to the program’s success,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to Monmouth County Office of Shared Services. “I encourage all of our municipalities to contact the Office of Shared Services to explore agreements that can deliver essential services to residents while also reducing costs for taxpayers.”

“Our Borough appreciates the programs and commodities offered under the Shared Services Agreement with Monmouth County. Assistance with our construction, tax, and flood mitigation programs helps provide essential and critical services to our residents. Participation in the commodities program has provided savings, which are passed onto our taxpayers, which is so appreciated in these challenging economic times,” said Mayor of Keansburg Borough, George Hoff.

Other shared service agreements that Keansburg utilizes is the Municipal Assistance, Commodity Resale, Public Safety Answering Point, Community Rating System, Open Public Records System, Health Services.
