Commissioners proclaim February
as American Heart Month
FREEHOLD, NJ –
The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed February 2025
as American Heart Month and is asking all County residents to join them in
fighting heart disease during the Commissioner meeting on Feb. 13.
In addition to
the proclamation, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, along with
the County staff, came together to show their support and to raise awareness
for heart disease by wearing red.
“Today my
fellow Commissioners and I, along with our County Constitutional officers and
our County employees, celebrate National Heart Month by wearing red to raise
awareness for cardiovascular disease,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A.
Arnone. “During this month, we reinforce the importance of heart health and the
need for more research and efforts to ensure that millions of people live
longer and healthier lives.”
“Each day in
the United States, so many of our friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers
are affected by cardiovascular diseases.” said Commissioner Deputy Director
Susan M. Kiley, liaison to the Monmouth County Department of Health and Human
Services. “A few ways to prevent heart disease include eating a healthy diet,
exercising, checking your cholesterol and controlling your blood pressure.
During American Heart Month, I encourage everyone to speak with your doctor
about ways to protect your heart.”
