County Commissioners congratulate Marlboro
High School for winning County Consumer Bowl
HOWELL, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners would like to congratulate a team of students from Marlboro High
School for winning the 2025 Monmouth County Consumer Bowl, a game-show-style
competition that tests students’ knowledge of consumer-related information. The
students have advanced to compete in the Central Regional Consumer Bowl on
April 8.
The Monmouth County Consumer Bowl, which is
sponsored by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, was held on Feb. 4 at
the Monmouth County Fire Academy. Students from Freehold Township High School, Manalapan
High School, Marlboro High School, Middletown North High School and Raritan High
School participated.
“On
behalf of the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, I want to
congratulate the Marlboro High School students for winning the 2025 Monmouth
County Consumer Bowl,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “Marlboro
has now won the County Consumer Bowl four years in a row and won the State
championship in 2024 - an incredible accomplishment. We look forward to supporting
them as they move on to the next round.”
“During
the Consumer Bowl, students are tested on their understanding of the Consumer
Fraud Act,” said Commissioner Erik Anderson, liaison to the Monmouth County
Division of Consumer Affairs. “The questions addressed topics like home
improvement contractors, gift cards, cryptocurrency, identity theft, internet
issues, and amusement games. Congratulations to the Marlboro team on their
fourth consecutive victory and to all the participating high schools for their
hard work.”
Marlboro High School students have won the Monmouth
County Consumer Bowl four years in a row. The members of this year’s winning
team are Summer Adler (captain), Chase Sussman, David Tabak, Sara Kachhia-Patel
and Kayla Newman. The team’s teachers/advisers are Patrick Scinto and Nicole
Bendik, and Marlboro High School’s principal is David Bleakley.
The
Consumer Bowl consists of three levels of competition: County, which was held on Feb. 4; Central Regional, which
will be held on April 8 at the Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville; and
the State championship, which will be held on May 21 at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office in
Trenton.
