County Commissioners highlight Little
Silver shared services success stories
Borough has received services since 1998
FREEHOLD, NJ – As part of their series on successful
shared services partnerships, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners
would like to showcase the Shared Services agreements between Monmouth County
and the Borough of Little Silver.
The Borough of Little
Silver has been utilizing shared services agreements since 1998 and has had a
Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Agreement since 2014. Under the leadership
of Monmouth County Sheriff, Shaun Golden, the Monmouth County 911
Communications Center distributes all emergency calls to the municipality.
“Our partnership through the Public
Safety Answering Point Agreement ensures that emergency calls are handled
promptly and effectively. The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Communications
Division is proud to support Little Silver with state-of-the-art technology and
professional 9-1-1 services,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden.
Another Shared Service
Monmouth County provides for Little Silver is the Shrewsbury River Flood
Warning System. This program, administered through the Monmouth County Office
of Emergency Management, allows municipalities to have a better knowledge of
potential flooding risks.
“The Shrewsbury River Flood Warning
System delivers advanced notice of changes in water levels and provides
awareness of conditions that can lead to potential flooding,” said Commissioner
Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Monmouth County Office of Shared
Services. “By utilizing this system Little Silver is able to develop an action
plan quickly if an emergency arises due to flooding.”
“Little
Silver has had a long, beneficial partnership with Monmouth County in so many
ways, for which we’re very grateful. Importantly, the County Office of Shared
Services programs help keep us safe, like the backup dispatch service, and the
Shrewsbury River flood alert system. Both are indispensable to the safety of
our residents in an emergency, as I remember well from Superstorm Sandy and
other severe storms,” said Robert Neff, Mayor of Little Silver.
“The Shared Services team
and I are always available to help municipal officials get started or to answer
any questions they may have, so contact us by calling 732-431-7460 or emailing
us at sharedservices@co.monmouth.nj.us,”
said Director Arnone. “We look forward to working with all our partners to make
Monmouth County the best place to live.”
The Monmouth County Office of Shared Services facilitates
partnerships with local government entities through which the County provides
services, equipment and resources to a local government which helps to reduce
costs and increase efficiencies.
