NACIO Awards of Excellence
Commissioners honor four
County employees
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners presented certificates of recognition to Department of Public
Information employees, Aaron Townsend, Julian Garcia, Kristen Becker and Tricia
Ring Wajda, for winning National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO)
Awards of Excellence during the workshop meeting held on August 10.
“Congratulations to Aaron, Julian, Kristen and Tricia for
their incredible work being recognized by NACIO for the 2023 Awards of Excellence
competition,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “Not only did they
win against professionals from across the Country, but the Monmouth County
Department of Public Information had the only winners from New Jersey.”
Townsend, County Graphic Artist, won Best in Category Award
for Graphic Design - Logos for the “Brewed and Distilled in Monmouth” logo.
Garcia, County Videographer and Digital Media Assistant, won
the Meritorious Award in the Audiovisual – Medium Length Video category for the
Monmouth ACTS Early Childhood Success Hub video.
Becker, County Social Media Coordinator, won the Superior Award in the Multi-Platform Campaign
category for social media regarding the Know Your Non-Profits Campaign where Becker
created content to promote all of the non-profit organizations that received
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding through the County. Becker also won the
Excellence Award in Audiovisual- Short Length video for her Fall in Monmouth
County video.
Wajda, Director of the Department of Public Information,
Economic Development and Tourism, won the Superior Award for Campaigns - Community
Engagement for “Brewed and Distilled in Monmouth.”
