Navesink River Road to close on Monday, May 8 for scheduled roadway improvements
MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Navesink River Road (County Route 12A) will close in the area of Huber Woods Park in Middletown will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 8 through Wednesday, May 24 to perform final roadway paving operations and installation of a prefabricated pedestrian bridge.
“After receiving numerous requests to install a pedestrian bridge, we are excited to bring this project to fruition,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Public Works & Engineering Department. “We appreciate residents' and visitors’ patience as this work is performed and remind all vehicular traffic to follow the arranged detours.”
A signed detour route will be posted using Brown’s Dock Road and Locust Point Road. This temporary road closure will allow the on-going Navesink River Road improvements and pedestrian bridge to be completed before the Memorial Day weekend.
In total, the County maintains approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons.
