Spring offers a variety of activities
for residents & visitors in Monmouth
County
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners
would like to remind residents and visitors about fun activities available
during the spring season in Monmouth County.
“As winter comes to a close and spring begins, Monmouth
County is ready to welcome another exciting year of events and activities,”
said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Division of
Tourism. “Monmouth County has a full calendar of events that will keep
residents and visitors busy throughout spring, including a Spring Craft Show that was held on
Saturday, April 15, at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center in Tinton Falls, and
Earth Day activities that will be held on Saturday, April 22, in our County parks.”
“One of my favorite spring events is Made in
Monmouth, occurring on Saturday, April 29 at Brookdale Community College from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,” said Director Arnone. “This event is free to visitors and
vendors where all the products you see are made right here in Monmouth County.”
“The Monmouth County Park System’s spring calendar of events
features a Creative Arts Festival on Saturday, May 13 at Thompson Park in
Lincroft, Walnford Day on Sunday, May 21 in Upper Freehold Township, and
International Astronomy Day on April 29 at Bayshore Waterfront Park in Port
Monmouth, Middletown,” said Commissioner Ross F. Licitra, liaison to the
Monmouth County Park System. “There is also a variety of programs and events
available through the Spring Parks and Programs Guide such as kayaking, bird
watching and hiking groups.”
The Monmouth County Park System also offers multiple golf
courses to visit and historical events to attend throughout the spring.
“For those who would like to spend time on the links, we
invite them to visit any of the six award-winning golf courses, located
throughout Monmouth County,” said Commissioner Licitra. “For history
enthusiasts, residents and visitors can get a glimpse of farm life in Monmouth
County in the 1890s and visit Historic Longstreet Farm in Holmdel, where
interpreters show daily and seasonal agricultural and domestic activities.”

Commissioners unveiled the Brewed & Distilled in Monmouth initiative.
“Our website, www.brewedanddistilledinmonmouth.com, highlights the County’s breweries, wineries and
distilleries, and the local restaurants and businesses surrounding them,” said
Director Arnone. “As the weather warms up, we invite everyone to plan a day of
enjoying the local creations made in these facilities. Make sure to tag Brewed

products!”
