County Safety Office, Benefits and Workforce Wellness Division

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners is proud to announce that Monmouth County’s Safety Office and the Benefits and Workforce Wellness Division have been chosen as recipients of the 2021 Workers’ Comp Risk Management Award for Excellence.

The Workers’ Comp Risk Management Award of Excellence annually recognizes outstanding loss control, safety and return-to-work programs sponsored by Sedgwick and Safety National in conjunction with the Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI).

“The County has done a fantastic job promoting strategies that advocate the importance of a safe and healthy work environment for our employees,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “The Benefits and Workforce Wellness Division offers an array of events, such as the Pledge 10 weight-loss event, Employee Walk Lunch Program, and webinars that show the benefits of physical health, mental health and nutrition.”

“Thanks to the incredible efforts by our County Safety Office and our Benefits and Workforce Wellness Division, workdays lost to worker injury have been reduced by more than 80 percent, costs have dropped 74 percent and average claim costs have gone down 72 percent, all of which, are remarkable feats,” said Commissioner Nick DiRocco, liaison to both the County Safety Office and the Division of Benefits and Workforce Wellness. “Monmouth County is committed to the overall wellness and safety of its employees and this award highlights the hard work done to keep Monmouth County’s workforce safe, productive and healthy.”
