County Commissioners announce new ARPA Grant
Program Funding Category and deadline extension
Non-Profits that provide mental health
services to be included
FREEHOLD,
NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners announced that the
COVID-19 Community Recovery Grant Program will provide American Rescue Plan Act
(ARPA) grants to nonprofit organizations located in the County that provide
mental health services in addition to those nonprofits that serve veterans,
combat food insecurity, provide animal welfare services, support the special
needs community, and promote and preserve art, historical and cultural
resources.
“Mental
health is an important facet of overall health and the pandemic has affected everyone
in a variety of ways,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “These
grant funds can help support mental health programs that directly address the
aftereffects of COVID-19 and promote overall wellness for individuals and
families.”
The Board
of County Commissioners also announced that the ARPA grant program funding
deadline has been extended from Friday, May 13 to Friday, May 20 at 4:30 p.m.
“Extending
the deadline allows non-profits who may need some additional time to review the
program guidelines and file the appropriate paperwork,” said Director Arnone. “We
want to make sure all eligible non-profits who would like to apply have the opportunity
to do so.”
Each
nonprofit organization can apply to receive up to $500,000 for expenses and/or
lost revenue during the Pandemic. Nonprofits are also strongly encouraged to
apply for funding for enhanced programs and services related to Pandemic
recovery.
The
County’s official funding notices and program guidelines are available on the County
website at www.visitmonmouth.com. All
submissions are due no later than Friday, May 20 at 4:30 p.m.
