Oceanport
Ave. Bridge has reopened
OCEANPORT, NJ –The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners announced that the Oceanport Ave. Bridge (E-13), at the
intersection of Oceanport Ave. and East Main St. in Oceanport, has been
reopened to traffic.
“We are pleased to report that the repairs were
completed on schedule and the bridge is open,” said Commissioner Director
Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering.” We
would like to thank our residents, and all who traveled in the area, for their patience
during the closure.”
The Oceanport Ave. Bridge was closed in March 2022 to
perform a concrete deck repair, which was needed due to the deck deteriorating
from years of environmental factors such as salt water.
In total, the County maintains of approximately 1,000 lane
miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and
beacons.
