Commissioners
urge residents to shop local for
Small Business
Saturday on Nov. 27
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth
County Board of County Commissioners would like to encourage residents to go
out and support local businesses and restaurants on Saturday, Nov. 27 for Small
Business Saturday.
“My fellow
Commissioners and I would like to invite all residents to come out and help
support Monmouth County’s small businesses and restaurants on Saturday, Nov. 27
for Small Business Saturday,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison
to the Division of Economic Development. “Small Business Saturday is a designated
day to appreciate and support our local businesses in our community. This year,
more than ever, our local businesses need our support as they recover from the
COVID-19 pandemic.”
The Monmouth County Division
of Economic Development’s Made in Monmouth team has initiated an interactive
vendor directory, which currently lists over 200 Made in Monmouth vendors. Made
in Monmouth vendors are consumers who manufacture their products in Monmouth
County. The list of vendors can be found at www.madeinmonmouth.com.
“The Division of
Economic Development will be hosting the ‘Mini Made in Monmouth’ vendor event
on Saturday, Dec. 4 in Manalapan,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “This
will be another fantastic way for the community to come out and support our
local businesses for the holiday season.”
Residents can also visit
the Grown in Monmouth online portal
to find local Christmas Tree farms, restaurants, wineries/breweries, garden
centers and more. The Grown in Monmouth program has been designed for Monmouth County
growers to help maintain and promote the County’s agriculture industry.
“We are proud to
provide continued support for our local businesses and nonprofits who still
need assistance to recover from the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, with the
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program,” said Commissioner Director
Arnone. “Along with County assistance for our small businesses we encourage our
residents to provide their continued support and shop local year-round.”
To apply for the
CDBG grant, small business owners and nonprofits can go to www.monmouthcountynj-cdbgcv.org
or call 732-624-6570 between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.
to 1 p.m. on Saturday to see if their business is eligible.
