County
Commissioner Director hosts
Shared
Services Summit
FREEHOLD, NJ –
Monmouth County Board of Commissioners Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the
Monmouth County Office of Shared Services, hosted two sessions of the County’s
Shared Services Summit at the Monmouth County Fire Academy this week to discuss
the benefits of shared services agreements.
“I am proud to say
that Monmouth County has developed one of the most successful Shared Services
programs in New Jersey,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “Participating in
the County’s shared services program has many benefits for partners such as economy-of-scale
purchasing power, a broad range of cost-saving services and commodities, and improved
up-to-date systems and equipment.”
“Over the past three
years, we have improved our program and added several services that would benefit
our partners. Some of the new services include the High-Resolution Aerial
Imagery Software (NearMap) and the iTaxMap System,” said Commissioner Director Arnone.
“Monmouth County’s Office of Shared Services works with municipalities, police
departments, fire departments, first aid squads, authorities, commissions, public
schools and institutions of higher learning to provide our partners with high
quality services at a fraction of the price.”
The County’s Office
of Shared Services objective is to help provide quality services and commodities
to local public partners at a lower cost. The County has the ability to share resources,
provide more efficient public services and the collective purchasing power to help
lower costs and to save taxpayers money.
“I am privileged to
say that my colleagues and I have worked hard to reduce and maintain a zero-tax
increase in our County budget,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “We look
forward to continuing to work with our municipalities to help share the County’s
resources, reduce costs and to deliver a higher quality of services to County
residents.”
