“Grown in Monmouth” Marketing Logo Available for use by Monmouth County’s Agricultural Community and Businesses
Monmouth County Freeholders to Hold Update Meeting on October 5
FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone and Freeholder Lillian G. Burry have announced the availability of the Grown in Monmouth marketing logo for use by Monmouth County’s Agricultural Community and related businesses to help them market and brand their products.
In the fall of 2015, the United States Department of Agriculture awarded the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders a Rural Business Enterprise Grant to assess the rural agricultural industry in Monmouth County, evaluate current trends and future opportunities to expand the industry, and to develop a marketing strategy to promote and market local agricultural products. The logo is the first element of the marketing strategy.
“The Grown in Monmouth logo is a great tool for our agricultural businesses to use,” said Freeholder Director Arnone. “We encourage all of our growers and agricultural related businesses to make use of this logo that identifies their products as Grown in Monmouth County. This is one of the first components of the Grown in Monmouth marketing strategy that we are currently developing.”
Members of the County’s agricultural community are encouraged to go to the Grown in Monmouth website, http://www.growninmonmouth.com to learn how to access the logo. The logo is free and requires a user to enter into a license agreement with the County.
Freeholder Lillian Burry, liaison to the Agricultural Board and longtime supporter of farmland preservation said, “The Board of Chosen Freeholders is committed to supporting our diverse and important agricultural community and the Grown in Monmouth project is designed to continue and expand that support.”
Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone and Freeholder Lillian G. Burry invite anyone interested in learning more about the program to attend the Grown in Monmouth update meeting on October 5 at 7 p.m. at the Monmouth County Agriculture Building, 4000 Kozloski Rd., Freehold. During this meeting a project update will be given and additional information about the marketing plan will be discussed.
