New Year, new location for County Health Department
Office moving to downtown Freehold

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Health Department is moving to 50 East Main Street in downtown Freehold, which will be marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m.

“This move is part of the County’s ongoing efforts to consolidate County operations and get County offices out of leased buildings,” said Freeholder Patrick Impreveduto, liaison to the Monmouth County Health Department. “The goal is to make County services convenient for our residents and moving this office to downtown Freehold will allow for members of the community who travel by foot or by public transportation to easily access all that the Health Department has to offer.”

The Health Department's programs and services are funded by local dollars as well as grants from the New Jersey Department of Health for emergency preparedness, case management of children with elevated blood lead levels, immunization outreach, sexually transmitted disease diagnostic and treatment services, childhood lead poisoning prevention outreach and education, and Medical Reserve Corps recruitment and training.

“I encourage anyone who has a question about services, programs, or is planning to come to the Health Department, to call the office at 732-431-7456,” said Christopher Merkel, Public Health Coordinator and Health Officer. “There will be no disruption to the phones and the Health Department staff will be able to assist residents with their questions or concerns.”

The Monmouth County Health Department provides public health services for residents of the following towns: Aberdeen, Allentown, Asbury Park, Atlantic Highlands, Avon, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Englishtown, Eatontown, Farmingdale, Hazlet, Holmdel, Howell, Keyport, Lake Como, Manasquan, Marlboro, Matawan, Millstone, Neptune Township, Neptune City, Oceanport, Ocean Grove, Roosevelt, Shrewsbury Township and Union Beach.
