Oceanport election statement
issued by
County Clerk Hanlon

FREEHOLD, NJ – Following the Nov. 3 election and the posting of provisional results, the Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon has issued the following statement regarding the Oceanport election:

"The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office has conducted a preliminary count of the write-in votes that were cast on the voting machines and by Vote By Mail ballots on Election Day for mayor and council in the Borough of Oceanport.

There were 988 total write-in votes for Oceanport Mayor:

Write-in candidate John F. Coffey II received a total of 949 votes.
Candidate Michael J. Mahon received 721 votes.

For Oceanport Borough Council, full-term, there were 807 write-in votes:

Write-in candidate Cullin Wibble received a total of 694 votes.
Candidate John A. Patti received 901 votes.
Candidate Patricia Cooper received 843 votes.
There are approximately 15 provisional ballots for the Borough of Oceanport from the Nov. 3 General Election. The provisional ballots are in the custody and control of the Monmouth County Superintendent of Elections. The date for processing of the provisional ballots is Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.
