Clover Campaign set for April 22-May 3

ALLENTOWN, NJ –Monmouth County 4-H is participating in the national spring 2015 4-H Paper Clover Campaign. Support the 4-H’ers by purchasing a clover at the Tractor Supply Company at 701 County Route 524.

The spring 2015 4-H Paper Clover Campaign will take place April 22 through May 3. Shoppers at the Tractor Supply Company store will have the opportunity to support Monmouth County 4-H by choosing to purchase paper clovers for a $1 or more at the checkout.

“This campaign is a great way to show support for the Monmouth County 4-H program,” said Freeholder Lillian G. Burry, liaison to the Cooperative Extension Service. “The 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach to enable youth to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to become competent, caring and contributing citizens.”

All funds raised will be donated to 4-H, and will support a variety of 4-H youth development programs in many counties and will assist in supporting statewide 4-H animal science project events.

“To celebrate this campaign, Monmouth County 4-H will host a hot dog barbeque on Saturday, May 2 from noon to 2 p.m.,” said Roberta Hunter, Monmouth County 4-H Agent.  “Come out for farm-related games, recite the 4-H pledge during the Clover Day Celebration and receive a free hot dog!”

The barbeque will take place at the Tractor Supply Company Store at 701 County Route 524 in Allentown.

National 4-H Council announced the launch of the spring 2015 4-H Paper Clover Campaign in partnership with Tractor Supply Company. This event marks the sixth year of collaboration that benefits state and local 4 H programs in counties where a Tractor Supply Company store is located.

4-H clubs will have displays and demonstrations daily throughout the campaign period.  New Jersey Tractor Supply Company stores are located in Allentown, Blairstown, Bridgeton, Flanders, Hillsborough, Little Egg Harbor, Pilesgrove, Ringoes, Sicklerville, Southampton, Sussex, Vineland and Washington.
