Come see (and buy) what’s ‘Made in Monmouth’

County-sponsored event highlights home-grown products

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – More than 160 Monmouth County-based manufacturers have signed on for the “Made in Monmouth” exposition to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at Monmouth University’s MAC Center on Larchwood Avenue.

“This is a great opportunity to see the creativity and productivity of Monmouth County businesses,” Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone said. “The quality and variety of products visitors will see will astonish them and give them the opportunity to buy locally.”

Items to be available for sale include custom furniture, beautiful jewelry at every price point, flowers and plants, baked goods, chocolate, specialty honey, award-winning sauces, treats for both you and your dog, great books and soy candles. There will also be original art, pottery, bath and body scrubs and lotions, stationery and items for sea lovers, decorative items for home and garden, handbags and accessories will be available to purchase and sample. There is something for everyone at Made in Monmouth.

It’s free for the public. A list of vendors will be provided the day of the event and will be available online at www.visitmonmouth.com.

“When you head over to Made in Monmouth, please consider helping the County fight hunger by bringing a nonperishable food donation,” said Freeholder John P. Curley. “The County is sponsoring a food drive for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties for the entire month of April, so there will be food collection bins at this year’s event.”

This event, organized by the Monmouth County Division of Economic Development and sponsored by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders in conjunction with Monmouth University, will introduce residents to the variety and quality of products being made in Monmouth County.

Made in Monmouth is a project under the Division of Economic Development’s Grow Monmouth initiative. For more information about how Grow Monmouth can help your business, go to the Grow Monmouth page at www.visitmonmouth.com.
