Tyree Sutton wins first state championship title for Keansburg
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized Tyree Sutton, a senior at Keansburg High School, for winning a NJSIAA Wrestling Championships title.
“Tyree won his hundredth win at his state finals match,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone. “His drive and determination won him a hundred matches and the very first state championship title for himself and for Keansburg High School.”
In Tyree’s final match, he got a takedown with four seconds left to even the score at 3-3 against his opponent and then another takedown 40 seconds into overtime secured his one hundredth career victory and the 195-pound state champion title.
At their regular meeting on March 12, the Freeholders presented Tyree with a certificate of recognition.
