Local businesses invited to ‘Made in Monmouth’
County seeking vendors for April 11 daylong event
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Are you a Monmouth County business owner that makes a consumer product and is looking to make sales close to home?
If so, you should consider participating in the 2015 “Made in Monmouth” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 in the MAC at Monmouth University on Larchwood Avenue.
Online registration is open and interested business owners should register on the on the Made in Monmouth page on the Monmouth County website at visitmonmouth.com. There is no cost to the vendors or the public.
“Today, Monmouth County produces sophisticated custom furniture, artwork, coffee, specialty teas and much more,” Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone said. “I’m proud that our residents can be creative and prosper while giving consumers the option of shopping locally.”
Previous events have showcased jewelry, pretzels, orchids, surfboards, handmade glass, honey, cosmetics, flags, chocolate, tea and much more. All of these items are made in Monmouth County and were available for purchase to the thousands of people that attended the single day event last year.
“Participating at Made in Monmouth has been fantastic,” Jill Naughton-Capone of Ice Pack Sacks said. “I have sold merchandise and made valuable connections that have resulted in growing my business.”
Made in Monmouth helps draw attention to businesses that manufacture or grow products right in Monmouth County and gives people the opportunity to shop local. There are 140 vendor spaces available.
“Monmouth County has always been creative and productive, delivering top-quality merchandise to markets here and around the world,” Arnone said. “From our earliest days of lumber, food, iron and boat building to today’s high-tech graphics and the arts, Monmouth County has a long and rich heritage of producing goods and services.”
Made in Monmouth is organized by the Grow Monmouth team within the County’s Division of Economic Development. Grow Monmouth officials meet regularly with business, civic and government leaders to provide state-of-the-art information services. It has become a major public-private project to create and preserve jobs in Monmouth County.
