Mid-day paving of Hubbard Avenue Tuesday

Motorist should expect detours from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – From 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, Hubbard Avenue will be closed for a repaving project.

Motorists should expect travel delays in the area while this work is completed. Signed detours will be in place during the closure.

“Hubbard Avenue will be an important corridor as we finalize the construction of the West Front Street Bridge,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “This single day paving project will be an improvement to Hubbard Avenue and have the road ready to accommodate traffic as part of the detour that will be put in place this January.”

The contractor, Agate Construction of Ocean View, NJ is on track to complete the bridge by May 2015.

The West Front Street Bridge has remained open to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for most the project.

The West Front Street Bridge is expected to close to all traffic in January. The new bridge will then be connected to the Middletown and Red Bank shorelines with the work expected to take four months to complete.
