Health Department offering
healthy home class

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Health Department and the Central New Jersey Lead and Healthy Homes Coalition will offer seven healthy home classes and lead screenings for Monmouth County residents.

“It is important for our residents to understand the effects that your home can have on your health,” said Freeholder John P. Curley. “I encourage residents to take advantage of these classes being offered by the County at no cost.”

“The goal of the program is to educate Monmouth County residents on the seven principles of a healthy home in order to create and maintain safe and healthy homes in all our communities,” said Michael A. Meddis, Monmouth County’s public health coordinator.

The seven principles of a healthy home that will be explained are: keep it dry, keep it clean, keep it ventilated, keep it pest-free, keep it safe, keep it contaminant-free and keep it maintained.

“Each attendee will receive a healthy home tool kit to help them to start on their way to a healthier lifestyle,” said Curley.

The classes are free to attend for Monmouth County residents and no insurance is required.
