Glimmer Glass bridge
maintenance to begin July 14

Five-day closure for span that connects Brielle and Manasquan

BRIELLE, NJ –Routine maintenance repairs on the Glimmer Glass Bridge (W-9) along Fisk Avenue between Brielle and Manasquan have been scheduled, weather permitting, beginning Monday, July 14. The work will be performed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and is expected to take no more than five days.

To perform these repairs, the Monmouth County Division of Bridges will close the bridge’s roadway to pedestrians and all vehicular traffic.

This maintenance work will take place under the bridge and in the navigable waterway of Debbie’s Creek.

The bridge closure will not affect marine traffic. Mariners are advised to exercise caution when passing through the area.

“Monmouth County prides itself on safety, especially with its movable bridges,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “This work must be done and we are working to limit the inconvenience.”
