Glimmer Glass bridge maintenance Wednesday

Three-hour closure for span that connects Brielle and Manasquan

BRIELLE, NJ –Routine maintenance repairs on the Glimmer Glass Bridge (W-9) along Fisk Avenue between Brielle and Manasquan have been scheduled, weather permitting, for Wednesday, July 2 between 9 a.m. and noon.

To perform these repairs, the Monmouth County Division of Bridges will close the bridge’s roadway to pedestrians and all vehicular traffic.

“Monmouth County prides itself on safety, especially with its movable bridges,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “This work must be done and we are working to limit the inconvenience.”

The bridge closure will not affect marine traffic.
