Freeholder Director Burry
honored by arts council

Monmouth Arts cites ‘community champion of the arts’

 

LINCROFT, NJ – Monmouth County Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry was honored with the Community Champion of the Arts Award by the Monmouth County Arts Council. Freeholder Deputy Director Gary J. Rich, Sr. and Monmouth County Administrator Teri O’Connor congratulate Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry for being named Community Champion of the Arts by the Monmouth County Arts Council on May 15, 2014 in Lincroft, NJ.

 

“It is an honor to be named as Community Champion of the Arts by the Monmouth County Arts Council,” Burry said. “I believe that art and history are the foundation of our society and it is essential to maintain a strong education of the arts in our schools and our communities.”

 

The Monmouth Arts Education Awards & Showcase 2014 took place on May 15. The Excellence in Arts Education Awards categories included Community Champion of the Year, Leader in Arts Education, Community Arts Administration & Education Leader, Arts Education Advocate and Community Arts Education Program.

 

“I commend Director Burry for her dedication to the arts,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Gary J. Rich, Sr. “As a former teacher, I agree that art education is very important and support Director Burry’s efforts that benefit the arts community in Monmouth County.”

 

Burry of Colts Neck is the owner of Colts Neck Realty who has served as a Monmouth County freeholder since 2006. Since then, she has served as liaison to Monmouth Arts, which is the official County arts agency.
