Emergency preparedness seminars

Free sessions May 23 and June 13 at County Connection

 

NEPTUNE, NJ – The Monmouth County Office on Disabilities will sponsor two seminars presented by the NJ Division of Disability Services entitled “Emergency Preparedness, What You Should Know,” on Friday, May 23 and Friday, June 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Monmouth County Connection located at 3544 State Highway 66. 
 
In these interactive training seminars, participants with disabilities, their aides, families, and friends will learn how to properly prepare for emergencies. Learn how to develop a simple emergency plan, find organizations and resources that help people with disabilities prepare for emergencies, and have emergency preparedness questions answered. Attendees will receive a free disaster kit while supplies last.

All programs are free and open to all Monmouth County residents, but advance registration is required. To register, please call 732-303-2828. 

The Monmouth County Connection is located in the strip mall at 3544 State Highway 66 in Neptune, adjacent to the Home Depot and across the street from Walmart. The office offers a variety of services including passports, passport photos, free notary public, veterans’ IDs, election/voter information, senior and veterans’ services, public access computers and more.

The office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The County Connection is under the direction of County Clerk M. Claire French and is supported by the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
