County’s Greentable group to meet, provide input
LINCROFT, NJ – Monmouth County’s first Greentable meeting for 2012 will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Thompson Park Visitor Center, 805 Newman Springs Rd.
The meeting will provide a forum for Monmouth County residents and municipal officials to have input to the next statewide open space and recreation plan.
Specifically, the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking information about local and regional open space and recreation needs and priorities that can be incorporated in the New Jersey Statewide Recreation Plan.
Attendees will have an opportunity to answer the question, “What do you see as New Jersey’s open space and recreation issues in the next five years?”
Leading the discussion will be Steve Jandoli of the DEP’s Green Acres Program.
The Monmouth County Greentable is a periodic meeting of individuals, groups and government representatives who work together to preserve open space and farmland. The group presents information about past, present and future local preservation projects as a way to share experiences, expectations and ideas.
